The City of Light: Highlights

Paris was everything I imagined and more. After spending years learning French, I was so grateful to finally be able to visit France. My trip was nothing short of amazing and I'd like to share a few of my favorite experiences:

Taking the steps up The Eiffel Tower

Walking up the Eiffel Tower was by far one of the best experiences I had in Paris. Halfway up, I stopped myself and thought, “Wow, I’m really walking up the Eiffel Tower right now.” Getting to the top was such an accomplishment and the view was amazing. If you ever visit the Eiffel tower, I suggest taking the steps instead of the elevator. Your legs may be sore, but it’s completely worth it!

Having a hotel in the middle of everything

My hotel was located on the Left Bank of The Seine River, putting me in walking distance of The Louvre Museum, Musée d’Orsay, Notre Dame, and plenty of souvenir shops and restaurants. The Eiffel Tower was a little further, but that didn’t stop me from making the 40-minute walk to get there.

Exploring the city

Paris is one of the easiest places to get around. The Metro, similar to London’s Tube, is great and takes you almost everywhere you would need to go. I explored most of the city by foot, The Metro, and occasionally by taxi.
